Comments and Posts Publication Policy

We hope that comments and posts will be an important and a very popular part of Bramcote Today, and we welcome them from all our readers. In order to be published, comments and posts should comply with the following four requirements:

  1. Comments or posts which could reasonably be construed as being
    1. personally insulting
    2. defamatory
    3. offensive
    4. hurtful
    5. potentially libellous
    6. obscene
    7. liable to compromise the privacy of others

    will not be published

  2. When commenting or posting, the display name which you provide should consist of your first name and surname, one of which can be represented by an initial.
    1. Examples of acceptable user names: John Smith, J Smith, John S
    2. Examples of unacceptable user names: John, Mr Smith, JS
  3. We do not allow comments which are left anonymously, or which use pseudonyms, nicknames or false names, or which attempt to impersonate the identities of others.
  4. A valid, working e-mail address must also be provided. This will not be published, and it will not be revealed to anyone outside the Bramcote Today team.

All submitted comments and posts will be held for moderation, and will only appear once they have been approved by the Bramcote Today team.

If a comment or post is deemed to be in breach of our policy, it will not be published. Any decision to withhold publication will be made by at least two members of the Bramcote Today team, who will reach their individual decisions impartially and independently.

As the team becomes more experienced in dealing with the content and volume of posts we hope to publish timescales to inform your expectation of publication. In the meantime, Moderation will take place as quickly as possible.

For legal reasons, we are unable to edit comments or posts on our authors’ behalf.
