Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum Latest

An update on the Re-designation of the Forum, The Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Plan Consultation and advance notice of the AGM

An email sent to Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum Members

Dear Bramcote Forum member,

We trust you are keeping well and enjoying the pleasant summer weather this week.

There are a number of items we need to update and inform you about.

1.  Re-designation of Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum
Last October we agreed to start the re-designation process for the Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum for a further five years.  The necessary documents were sent to Broxtowe Borough Council and details will be sent out for the 6 week period of consultation starting on 22 June and will run until 5 August.

Broxtowe will contact everyone on their joint Local Plan Consultation database by email or post as soon as the consultation commences.  It will also be publicised on Bramcote Today and the BramcoteNG9 Facebook sites.

Information about the re-designation will be available on the Broxtowe site https://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/for-you/planning/planning-policy/neighbourhood-planning/bramcote-neighbourhood-plan/

2.  The Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 16 Consultation
Earlier this month Broxtowe Borough Council advised that the Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Forum had submitted its Neighbourhood Development Plan (‘Neighbourhood Plan’) to Broxtowe Borough Council.

Ryan Dawson, Head of Planning and Economic Development, wrote “A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development and growth of an area. It may contain a vision, aims, planning policies, proposals for improving the area or providing new facilities, or allocation of key sites for specific kinds of development.  Broxtowe Borough Council is now inviting comments on this Plan. Details of where to view the documents, and how to respond, are set out in the Consultation Notice on our website: http://www.broxtowe.gov.uk/chetwyndneighbourhoodplan. The consultation period will run from Wednesday 8th June 2022 to Friday 22nd July 2022; all representations must be received within this time”.

The Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum steering group have looked at the plan and believe there are elements within the Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Forum’s Neighbourhood Plan which could have ramifications on the plan we submitted in December 2020.  These include impact on traffic movements and the location of the Leisure Centre.

Therefore, to discuss the Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum’s response to the above Toton and Chilwell Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 16 Consultation, we are proposing to have a Forum meeting by Zoom on Tuesday 5 July starting at 8.00pm.  Details about how to join the meeting are listed below.
