White Ribbon Day

Black background with white text saying 25th November is white ribbon day with a white ribbon

Yesterday Thursday 25 November was White Ribbon Day.

Each year thousands of people come together to speak out and say no to violence against women. As part of our Domestic Abuse agenda we stand with White Ribbon to encourage our employees, partners and community to sign the pledge and say that there is no excuse against abuse.

Thank you to all that attended our virtual White Ribbon event yesterday, we had over 60 attendees who listened to special guest speakers, case studies and videos to show the importance of working to end male violence against women.

Thanks to our speakers from White Ribbon UKJuno Women’s AidEquation, White Ribbon Ambassador, The Mayor of Broxtowe and our own Domestic Abuse Coordinator. As well as our employees, members and partners.

All attendees made the Promise Pledge at the same time, and it’s not too late for you to join.

Christmas will be arriving at Kimberley and Stapleford this weekend!

Christmas Light Switch On Events

Kimberley will be switching on their Christmas lights later today!

Head down from 4.30pm and enjoy food stalls, children’s rides, live music, a parade, The Mayor switching the lights on, and visit Santa in his grotto to get your Christmas present requests in early! There will also be some fireworks to enjoy from 7.00pm so make sure you don’t miss out.

Following Met Office yellow weather warnings, the Christmas lights switch-on event in Stapleford on Saturday may be cancelled due to safety concerns. We will make a decision either way by 1pm tomorrow and communicate this on our website and social media channels.
