Devolution vision for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

Leaders from the nine councils in Nottinghamshire have set out their ambitious joint vision for devolved powers to improve investment in the economy, the environment and health.

In a paper to the joint City of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Economic Prosperity Committee, councils have outlined how they would work in partnership to help boost economic investment, improve the environment, and tackle health and educational inequalities across the city and county.

Notts has one-in-five chance of hosting the ‘world’s first’ fusion energy plant

An existing coal-fired power station in Nottinghamshire has made the shortlist of what is hoped to be the world’s first prototype fusion energy plant.

Part of the site at Ratcliffe-on-Soar has made it to the final five as part of a national search for potential locations by the government for alternative energy plants, with the final decision due to be announced in late 2022.

Booking system for West Bridgford Recycling Centre to end

West Bridgford Recycling Centre

With wider Covid 19 restrictions having been eased the booking system at West Bridgford household waste and recycling centre on Rugby Road will be removed from 1 November 2021.

All 12 recycling centres across the county will be operating winter opening hours from 1 Nov, with opening hours 8am to 4pm daily – all sites will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Residents must already be registered to use Nottinghamshire County Council’s recycling centres, you can register and/ or update your vehicle details online.
