Wollaton u3a update

Wollaton u3a is established for people in their Third Age (Retired, semi-retired or simply no longer have responsibility for children) to expand their interests in an informal and social atmosphere.

As we emerge from the restrictions of Covid-19 our Interest Groups are beginning to reawaken!  Walking groups are fully operational and some other groups have started to meet outside.  Hopefully, we will be able to return to a full programme for all our groups as we move into autumn.

“Speaker” meetings are held on 4th Tuesday monthly in St. Leonard’s Community Centre. Our forthcoming meetings are:

Tuesday 28th September at 10.00am in St. Leonard’s Community Centre, Wollaton.  This meeting will enable members to meet face to face and chat over a cup of coffee or tea This meeting will also involve our AGM.  There will be an opportunity to discuss in groups the way forward for Wollaton u3a.  You will be able to renew your membership.   New prospective members will be very welcome at this meeting.

Tuesday 26th October at 10.00am in St. Leonard’s Community Centre, Wollaton. When Paul Newsham will give a talk on the Life of Alan Turing.

Tuesday 23rd November at 10.00am in St. Leonard’s Community Centre, Wollaton.  Kieran Lee will speak to us about: The Friends of Bennerley Viaduct – Dedicated to restoring, conserving and celebrating Bennerley Viaduct”. This is a local project and will be of interest to many of us.

New members are always appreciated and welcome. We are also always seeking new Interest Groups so if you have a particular interest which you could share with others let us know.
