Mild Symptoms testing

Got symptoms? Don’t guess, get a test

Even if your symptoms are mild you should still get tested.

Testing helps to keep the spread of Covid-19 under control. Self-isolating if you test positive  reduces transmission of the virus and helps protect your friends and family and keeps them safe.

You can order a PCR test kit to be sent to your home or book an appointment at a walk-in or drive-through test site.

Grab a jab in Nottinghamshire

Are you eligible for your first or second vaccine? You can grab a jab at vaccination sites across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire at a convenient time for you! Please remember second doses are available for those who had their first dose 56 days (8 weeks) ago.

Alternatively, you can book your appointment online or call 119.

Vaccine timetable

16 – 17 year olds can get vaccinated

Young people at a festival

All 16 and 17 year olds in Nottinghamshire can now get their vaccine at local walk-in sites.

In Bassetlaw, the NHS will contact you when it’s your turn to get the vaccine and you’ll be invited to a local NHS service such as a GP surgery.

You cannot book your appointment online.

What to expect after the vaccination?

As with all medicines, vaccines can cause side effects. Not everyone gets them and most are mild and short-term, the most common are:

  • Tenderness/ache in the arm where you had your injection
  • Feeling tired
  • Headache, aches and chills

You can rest and take paracetamol (follow the dose advice in the packaging) to help make you feel better.

You should be given a record card when you get your first dose, and this should be taken with you when you go for your second jab.
