The Boundary Commission is at times a perplexing body. It’s principal mandate is to ensure that constituencies are all as near equal in their voter numbers as possible.
This results in all sorts of odd delineations of constituent areas.
I think a broader mandate is required to ensure that they can allow variation to prevent cohesive communities being divided to meet the numbers criterion.
Better that they look at borough Councils electorates that vary excessively in their ward numbers.
