Darren Henry’s Update on 9 May 2021

Local Elections

Across the country, people had their say this week on who should represent them by casting their votes in the local elections.

Congratulations to all those who have been elected – I look forward to working with all new and existing Councillors here in Broxtowe to enact positive change for our area. To those who were not elected, I want to thank you for your service locally and wish you the best in your future endeavours.

I am also incredibly proud of my wife, Caroline, who was elected as Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner yesterday. I cannot think of anyone with more skills and experience for the role, and who cares more about Nottinghamshire.

I wish all those elected the very best in their new roles!

Upcoming Events

On 19th May at 10am, I will be hosting my next Virtual Coffee Morning to discuss environmental issues with my constituents.

It is a great opportunity to hear about the work I have done on environmental issues. I will also be opening the floor to questions and suggestions about what more I can do locally. If you would like to attend, email me at darren.henry.mp@parliament.uk

This month I will also be hosting an event with the Federation of Small Businesses on 27th May at 1pm to discuss what Broxtowe’s small businesses need to thrive post-pandemic.   I look forward to speaking with local businesses to learn from them and find out how they can be supported as we build back better in Broxtowe. If you are a local business owner and wish to attend, please sign up here

  1. Well done to you wife, Darren. Let’s hope that she can help Notts people to follow the law and that you can help MPs do likewise.
