29 March Roadmap

Step 1 of the roadmap – further changes from 29 March

From Monday 29 March there will be changes to the current rules in place as part of Step 1 of the Roadmap out of lockdown.

These include:

Social contact – Outdoor gatherings (including in private gardens) of either 6 people (the Rule of 6) or 2 households will be allowed, making it easier for friends and families to meet outside.

Business and activities – Outdoor sports facilities such as tennis and basketball courts, and golf courses, can reopen, and people will be able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports.

Travel – People will no longer be required to stay at home but many restrictions will remain in place. People should continue to minimise travel wherever possible, and should not be staying away from home overnight. Holidays abroad will not be allowed, given it will remain important to manage the risk of imported variants and protect the vaccination programme.

Further guidance on Step 1

Carers urged to book vaccines

Carer

If you are a carer, it’s important to take up your opportunity to get vaccinated. Vaccines are our best protection against covid.

You qualify if you:

• are eligible for a carer’s allowance
• are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person, whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.

Reuben, who is a young carer, said: “I look after my mum who can be very poorly. I have been very worried over the last year that, even though we’ve stayed at home, we could catch Covid-19 and die. I’m also in the BAME group so when we were offered the vaccine, I was happy to have it to help stop the spread of the disease and hopefully protect me and my mum as well as other people we might be around.”

Working outside the home? Remember your test

Covid-19 testing

As we move through each step of the Prime Minister’s Roadmap, testing will remain an important tool to enable businesses and the wider economy to re-open safely and carefully. We know that about a third of people which Covid-19 do not display symptoms and can spread the virus without knowing so regular, weekly community testing will enable them to know if they are infectious or not, and act accordingly. These tests are quick, with results available in around 30 minutes.

It is still important to remember that people who test negative – or those receiving the vaccine – should continue to follow the lockdown and ‘Hands, Face, Space’ rules.

Community testing

Calling businesses to register for free Covid-19 testing

Community testing

If you wish to register for free workforce testing  for your employees to be carried out at the workplace but haven’t done so yet, time is running out.

If your business is registered in England and your employees cannot work from home, register by 11:59pm on 31 March 2021.

Register now

If this is not suitable for your workforce, perhaps because you are a small business, you should use the community testing sites located across Nottinghamshire.

One year since the first lockdown started

Day of reflection

The anniversary of one year since we went to the first national lockdown took place on Tuesday 23 March. We marked Marie Curie’s National Day Of Reflection with a minute’s silence at midday to show our support to those who have lost loved ones. We also shared a poem (to the right) on the past year written by one of our colleagues.
