Two Men Arrested Following Stapleford Shooting

From Councillor Richard MacRae: Nottinghamshire Police detectives have arrested two men on suspicion of attempted murder following a firearms incident in Stapleford.

The force launched an investigation after a 23-year-old man was shot in the arm near to Hickings Lane Park on Wednesday night (18 November).

The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre but his injuries were not life threatening or altering. He has since been discharged from hospital.

Two men aged 21 were detained following a number of warrants and arrest enquiries earlier this week.

They both remain in police custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Kim Binns is leading the investigation. She said: “We have been carrying out numerous enquiries since the incident. We are working tirelessly to establish the circumstances.

“Two men are now in custody in connection with the incident last week.

“We are still appealing for information and are keen to speak to drivers who might have dash-cam footage that could help.

“We are keen to establish everyone who might have been involved in any way and continue to welcome any information around what happened.

“It’s our belief that this incident isn’t connected to any others from around the county.

“Firearms incidents are treated seriously and we are utilising lots of resources to bring those behind this offence to justice.”

If your recognise the people in this footage or have any information that could help, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 749 of 18 November 2020.
