Nottinghamshire County Council Media Release:
Statement from the Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council on latest Covid developments.
Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, Councillor Kay Cutts MBE said: “I can confirm that Leaders of Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council have received an invitation from government to commence initial discussions today (Thurs Oct 22) about how potential Tier 3 restrictions would impact local communities.
“We will enter any discussions to achieve the best possible outcomes for the health and livelihoods of all residents of Nottinghamshire.
“The best outcome will be achieved with the full cooperation of all leaders in Nottinghamshire who I know will have the best interests of the health and wellbeing of their communities at heart. As soon as we reach any conclusions, we will communicate the implications for the affected communities.”
Nothing at all was said in the PM briefing today about Nottingham going into Level 3. Why are the council saying this? Do they need the money, certainly the City could do with a windfall to help with their massive losses recently.
