Bramcote Hills Park retains the prestigious Green Flag Award

Image from 16/07/2019 when Broxtowe Borough Council reported that five Broxtowe open spaces, including Bramcote Hills Park, were celebrating after retaining their Green Flag awards

Usually announced in July, this year the awards were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now announcements have been made, Bramcote Hills Park celebrates 14 consecutive years of the award and Colliers Wood has reached 12 consecutive years of the accreditation.

Bramcote Hills Park, Colliers Wood, Moorgreen, Alexandrina Plantation/Sandy Lane, Bramcote, Brinsley Headstocks and The Old Church Tower, Bramcote are all recognised again and retain the prestigious Green Flag Award.

The Green Flag Award is an accreditation given to publicly accessible parks and open spaces, primarily in the United Kingdom, in order to promote standards of good management and best-practice amongst the green space sector. A Green Flag is a sign to the public that the space has very high standards, is well maintained and has good facilities.

Chair of the Environment and Climate Change Committee, Councillor Helen Skinner said: “Our teams work so hard to make sure that our parks and green spaces not only look beautiful, but are great for wildlife and also ideal places for local residents to enjoy. I am so incredibly proud of all the hard work our Environment team put in, throughout the year. This hard work means people (and their pets) from across our Borough, can enjoy the lovely nature we have in our neighbourhoods.”
