Only get a coronavirus test if you have symptoms

Only get a coronavirus test if you have symptoms

If you do not have symptoms of coronavirus, please do not book in for a test. This is really important as you could be taking a test away from someone who really needs it. If you are feeling unwell and do not think it is coronavirus, please call your GP or seek medical help by calling 111 or visit 111 online. In an emergency, call 999.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus and need to book a test, call 119 or visit the online government portal

Symptoms include:

  • high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Travelling safely on public transport

Hands. Face. Space

Face coverings are mandatory if you travel on public transport, unless you are exempt. Please also ensure that you also keep a safe distance from other commuters when waiting for your bus, tram or train where possible. This should be two metres or one metre if you have a face covering. It is also advisable to carry hand sanitiser when travelling on public transport.

Sticking to the “rule of 6”

The Rule of 6

The “rule of 6” came into play on Monday. That means when meeting with people you don’t live with you can only socialise in groups of up to 6 in ANY setting, indoors or outdoors, at home or in the pub.

Here’s what you need to remember:

  • HANDS. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, and often.
  • FACE. Wear a face covering where required e.g. shops, on public transport, libraries etc. (unless exempt)
  • SPACE. Keep 2 metres apart from anyone outside your household or support bubble.

Volunteers wanted!

Nottingham University logo

The University of Nottingham is looking for volunteers to take part in a research study project called ‘The Impact of Covid-19 on Homecare provision’.

During the Covid-19 lockdown period, local authorities were encouraged to make use of new volunteer groups for some care tasks.

The University would like to speak to people who volunteered to provide care tasks during the Covid-19 lockdown period. This could be telephone checking, shopping, collecting prescriptions or any other task provided to people who were at home. Volunteering could be via the Community Hub or through a smaller community initiative.

Staying safe on the sidelines

Social distancing on the sidelines

Going to the match this weekend to cheer on your kids?

Remember to stay at least 2 metres away from anyone you don’t live with, like other parents watching the game.

You could unknowingly spread Covid-19 to others, even if you don’t have symptoms.

By keeping to the rules, we can keep the games going.
