Nottinghamshire County Council has been Highly Commended in the Procurement Innovation Project of the Year Category at the National Government Office (GO) Awards on Friday 17 July.
The annual awards ceremony celebrates public procurement across the UK and this year’s virtual event announced 20 Highly Commended awards and 17 category winners with entries from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The event was co-hosted by BBC Northern Ireland presenter Holly Hamilton and renowned magician Paul Martin – and with an official welcome from Simon Tse, Chief Executive of the Crown Commercial Service.
The Procurement team at Nottinghamshire County Council won the Highly Commended award for their submission on an innovative and competitive dialogue procurement process that helped to select a provider with the right culture and approach to deliver a new rapid response homecare service to support people to be able to stay in their own homes during a crisis, as well as help them to return home after a stay in hospital.
The impact of the procurement has had a real impact on the quality of the lives of Older Adults and has enabled Nottinghamshire to continue to deliver strong performance in supporting people home from Hospital, which is regularly in the top 10 Nationally.
Councillor Tony Harper, Chairman of the Nottinghamshire’s Adult Social Care and Health Committee said: “Congratulations to our Procurement team for working on a bespoke and ground-breaking project that has been recognised nationally. The team have worked hard to produce a brand-new innovative procurement approach that is transforming Adult Social Care commissioning in Nottinghamshire.”

Our project has resulted in a vastly improved experience and outcome for our residents which is something to be very proud of. To receive such national recognition is well justified.”
