Thunderstorms and Possible Flooding – Message from Nottinghamshire County Council

Councillor Steve Carr writes: Yesterday I received this email from the County’s Principle Flood Officer about preparation for expected storms this weekend.

Dear Councillor Carr,

I hope you are well and thank you for all of the additional information you have passed on regarding the flooding from the 17th June.

I wished to take this opportunity to update you regarding any concerns the residents and businesses may have. Via have been presented with a list of all locations in which flooding was reported on the 17th June in order to ensure all assets of which may have been identified as blocked are able to be cleared in the oncoming days before the forecasted weather regarding the thunderstorms.

I have been liaising directly with the affected residents and businesses to provide guidance and support and to signpost them towards the flood resilience grants of which are being supported by the County Council.

If you have any additional concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

  1. Thank you for this update. We have still heard nothing from the two County Councillors who represent Stapleford and still no replies to any emails I have sent them.
