Councillor Janet Patrick, Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe writes: My first task as newly appointed Mayor Broxtowe is to help raise funds for the new Broxtowe Community Appeal.
Our target to raise £10,000 by Sunday 24 May. So far over £5,000 has been committed by individuals and local groups. But unless our crowdfunding target is reached no money at all will be received.
These funds will go towards supporting local food banks and other community aid groups who are helping vulnerable people get food, hot meals and other essential supplies, as well as those providing befriending and mental health support.
The Council has itself given £58,000 to local groups including:
• Hope Nottingham
• Eastwood Age Concern
• Beeston Middle Street Resource Centre
• Stapleford Town Council
Broxtowe is a very caring community and much has already been done. But the need is even greater now as the situation is quite desperate for many.
Please give as generously as possible.
Thank you for your support and please also share this appeal with others in your own community.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any other information.
Any fees associated with the appeal will be covered by the Council so 100% of the money you donate will go to the community.
