The 2020 Beeston and Chilwell Garden Trail (BCGT) is certainly going to be different this year!
Prior to a few weeks ago, our plans were for 17 varied gardens in and around the Beeston and Chilwell area taking part over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th June.
Unfortunately, with the coronavirus induced self-isolation/social distancing situation we find ourselves in, the decision was made by the organisers very reluctantly to cancel this year’s Garden Trail. Even more galling has been the recent amazing weather we have been experiencing that has given the gardeners an ideal opportunity to get gardening to make their gardens look extra special
However, all is not lost and not to be defeated we are instead planning a ‘Virtual Garden Trail’ for the same weekend showing photographs of all the gardens in their splendour.
So for your annual ‘fix’ of the BCGT and the opportunity to see what our gardeners have been up to, please go to our website www.beestonandchilwellgardentrail.org.uk and enjoy a feast for your eyes without even leaving the house! The only down side being that you will have to make your own cream tea this year!
Every year the BCGT makes a lot of money for a variety of local and national charities. Currently all charities are suffering due to the lockdown so we will be making sure that our charities’ details are available for those visitors who would like to show their appreciation of the individual gardens and the worthy causes they are supporting.
We are very much hoping that normality will be resumed once again in 2021 and hope that absence makes the heart grow fonder with even more visitors enjoying our special gardens next year!
We look forward to welcoming you to our Beeston and Chilwell Garden Trail 2021 on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June. New gardens are always welcome, if you are interested please go to the BCGT web-site for information about how to contact the organisers.
