Creating a conversation about the Future of Beeston
Peter Robinson, on behalf of the Organising Panel writes: We would like to update you on the progress of #Beeston2020Vision.
First a new diary date. The free open event planned for Friday 15 May has been postposed to Friday 25 September 2020. We will keep this under review as the crisis develops, but otherwise we expect it to take place from 7-9pm in the Pearson Centre for Young People, 2 Nuart Road, Beeston, NG9 2NH, with Professor Sir Martyn Poliakoff in the Chair. Let us know if you would like to attend as it will help with arrangements on the night.
Prior to lockdown we were posting one contribution a week, a total of eighteen ideas for the future of Beeston received so far. Our thanks to those who have published statements on the Facebook page, which we greatly appreciate.
For those who have yet to publish what better moment to think about how our town might adjust to meet our changing needs over the next ten years. As we come together as a community to support each other we might look ahead to see how we can make Beeston a better place to live, work and play.
We are looking for creative ideas between 250 and 400 words, plus your thoughts for encouraging an online conversation in anticipation of the September event. We would particularly like to hear from young people.
Do not worry too much about expression. You do not need to be a professional writer. Ideas will be published on a dedicated webpage and shared across social media to encourage further debate and stimulate other suggestions, so please make sure that you are comfortable with that.
If you like the sound of what we are doing then please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or through your Organising Panel contact.
Help to set an agenda for the next chapter of our town. This is your time to have your say about your future.
