Paul Nathanail: It has been a busy start to the year! This is the first of what I hope will be a more regular series of emails to keep you informed and to help you decide what you can do to influence planning related matters in Broxtowe.

  2. Review and respond to the detailed planning application for the former Bramcote Hills Golf Course site.

CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE

The main news this month has been the Council review of leisure centre provision across Broxtowe in order to inform the production of a Leisure Strategy that will decide the fate of Bramcote Leisure Centre.  An online survey, that should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, is available for residents to make their views known: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=YFS2xov2ukCM_VTEh_ZBBANp864vBTZIvFPAKrUoOcpUM1hXQjE1RFJERTFFRkI1NTNRMU8yTDZBVS4u

A series of workshops at the Bramcote, Chilwell and Kimberley leisure centres this week were postponed.  The workshops have been very poorly advertised and the Bramcote workshop was most unhelpfully scheduled for the middle of the afternoon when many residents would have been at work or picking kids up from school. I have asked for a more convenient evening slot for the rearranged workshop.

A planning application (20/00058/REM) has been submitted to the Council for the redevelopment of the Bramcote golf course site.  The details are being processed by the council and should be available online in the next few days at: http://planning.broxtowe.gov.uk/ApplicationDetail?RefVal=20%2F00058%2FREM
An outline planning application (14/00677/OUT) was approved on Appeal as the council did not have a five year supply of land.   This detailed application is for permission to develop the land for a retirement and specialist care community comprising 38 x 2 bed bungalows, 44 assisted care units (1 and 2 bed) and 18 x 1 bed flats together with specialist care/ancillary communal facilities.

With every best wish to you all,
