Background
As you may already know, I replaced Simon Riley as Broxtowe Borough Neighbourhood Policing Inspector on 22nd July. This may only be a temporary promotion for me but I have taken it on with great enthusiasm. I’m sure Simon will continue to be successful in his new role as Chief Inspector for Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood. I hope to follow his successes in the Broxtowe Borough.
I joined Nottinghamshire Police in 1993 and have worked in a number of roles across the force in my 26 year career to date. The majority of my background is in response policing. I started out at Hucknall before moving to Bulwell. Here I continued on response before a spell on the neighbourhood policing team prior to moving back to response at Eastwood. I spent many years working at Eastwood and Kimberley – areas I became very familiar with. I later moved to Beeston prior to a move to Operational Support – based at the motorway post at Trowell.
Around 2003 I was promoted to Sergeant, moving to the Mansfield and Ashfield area. Initially working on response I then spent four years working within the intelligence unit. I have since worked around Mansfield and Ashfield as Response Sergeant, covering as required as Demand Management Inspector.
I am married with three children – two being teenagers, the other thinks she is already but isn’t quite there yet. I enjoy running, cycling, food, drink and spending time with my family (not necessarily all at once).
Finally, having taken up the post of Neighbourhood Policing Inspector I will spend the first week picking up from where Simon left off.
I will then be on holiday for the first week of August. By the end of that month I hope to have a more meaningful update and to have met with some of the community.
I see my current role as a great opportunity and intend to make a real difference to helping people feel secure whether they live or work within the Borough.
