  1. I’m struggling to understand the headline ‘Conservatives Protect Bramcote Greenbelt’.

When Broxtowe Borough Council initially indicated that Bramcote Hills Park and the Moor Lane running track might be removed from the Green Belt, at least one local Conservative Councillor didn’t object on the basis that the area might be afforded Protected Open Space status instead. And the publicly owned playing fields east of Coventry Lane (which are still scheduled to be removed from the green belt) were glibly planned to be given away by the Conservative County Council to the private White Hills Park Federation without recourse to alternative funding strategies. Both policy decisions appear to have been rescinded …….. not because of the Conservatives, but because of the dogged perseverance of the Bramcote Neighbourhood Forum and other non-political agencies.
