Councillor Martin Plackett, Bramcote Ward, Broxtowe Borough Council writes: I received a call from a Moor Lane resident at 10.30 am and was on site within a few minutes liaising with the Police, both School Heads and Broxtowe Borough Council Legal Department for advice.
5 Caravans and vehicles were on the ‘Running Track Site’ which is the responsibility of the White Hills Park Federation.
The Police arrived shortly afterwards.
Thanks to the prompt action of both the Junior and White Hills Park Federation Schools the entrance was quickly blocked ensuring no more vehicles could enter via the Junior School entrance.
The police again acting very quickly ensured the Travellers left the land, exiting by 11.30 am.
Both Schools are to take action to ensure this private land is not encroached in the future.
Prompt action therefore ensuring a satisfactory outcome.
