Age Friendly Nottinghamshire ‘Take a Seat’ scheme launch

Older people looking to take a break and have a sit down while they are out and about can now get help from the new Take a Seat initiative.

Local shops and premises who display the We are Age Friendly sticker will offer older people the chance to sit down and a warm welcome. Some businesses will also offer a drink and, if accessible, use of their toilet facilities.

Beeston Scheme Launch

Monday 14th May 2018 will see the scheme’s official launch in Beeston Town Centre. All are invited to attend the launch event at Boots store, High Road, Beeston at 10am.

How businesses can sign up to Take a Seat

Local businesses, libraries, medical centres and churches are welcome to join the Take a Seat initiative. Joining is completely cost free to the business and includes an Age Friendly sticker to display in your premises and a guidance sheet. A limited number of fold away chairs are also available (optional).
