Have you lost a mobility scooter?

Barry Morrison reported yesterday:

On 10 May a mobility scooter was left, apparently abandoned, next to the bus stop outside Bramcote Newsagents/Post Office, next to the Sherwin Arms. Does anyone know of someone who could have accidentally lost a mobility scooter(Yep, I know it sounds strange). Someone phoned the police and the answer was ”It’s not a police matter”.

I haven’t been out, in the rain, to check but presume it is still there. If anyone passes, please take a photo and email to us to publish.”

On of our FB readers has passed by today and confirmed the scooter is no longer there.

Thx Sue..Hopefully the rightful owner has retrieved it.

  3. Councillor Richard MacRae says:

The Scooter is there quite often. I was told a local resident leaves it there and catches the Bus to and from Nottingham regularly.

Yes, but surely not for four days all day and night..On saturday night when the clowns had come out of The Sherwin they decided to turn the mobility scooter round so that it was completely blocking the pavement..I moved it on sunday morning..Also, there were two crutches on the inside of the canopy..One of those had been stolen.

The matter has been resolved..Apparently the mobility scooter belonged to a lady of limited mobility and it seems to have broken down at the bus stop..Her main concern was wondering if her insurance would cover removal and repair..She decided to use the bus to Beeston and half way there realised she had another problem that she had forgotten her crutches which she needed as her walking aid, well now one of those crutches has gone missing as I reported yesterday..Still, I hope it all works out well for the lady
