Press Release from Greg Marshall, Labour Candidate for Broxtowe: Earlier this week, Broxtowe Labour announced the selection of Greg Marshall to fight for Broxtowe in the upcoming general election. Greg, who is a Beeston West Councillor, Environment Agency worker and is married with two girls , now plans to hold an event in Beeston this Saturday to officially launch his general election campaign. The event is open to all supporters of Greg’s campaign and will see Greg set out a vision for Broxtowe that is based on investment, growth, environmentalism and a strong support for public services.

Greg says: “I am honoured to have been selected this week as Labour’s Parliamentary candidate to fight for Broxtowe in the general election on June 8th. I have lived in Broxtowe for almost all of my life and so I will always stand up for Broxtowe and for the needs of local residents.

“My campaign launch gives me an opportunity to set out my vision for Broxtowe and my pledges to local residents. That is a vision that is based on fairness and equality of opportunity. It is a vision that is based on providing for the many and not the few. It is a vision where we invest in our NHS, education, and homes, and where we support those who need it most.

“I currently represent Beeston West on Broxtowe Borough Council and I have consistently stood up against cuts to our local services and put in place measures to protect services in the face of government led austerity. I have also spoken out on environmental issues such as fracking, which I vehemently oppose. We need honest and principled representation that puts the voice of Broxtowe first, and being a local resident myself, I know I can provide just that.”
