What a difference a clean makes

finally-cleanedThanks to Bramcote Councillors and pressure from many local residents and the cooperation of Highways England, the Sherwin Island bridge has been cleaned. The island is far from perfect but much progress has been made. Thanks also to Paul Summers and his team at Broxtowe Borough Council for their ongoing maintenance of the island.

  1. Cllr Martin Plackett Bramcote Ward BBC says:

It is good to say ‘thank you’ for a job well done and I have emailed Highways England to that effect.
Praise also to Broxtowe Borough Councils Environment Team for their work on the island. Extensive weed killing, bulb planting, summer flowering plants, the shrubs beginning to grow following the application of fertiliser, and with regular maintenance it is hoped the island will continue to be more pleasing to the eye. Thanks to Sue and the many others who have campaigned vigorously both directly and through their representatives for improvements on both these issues.
