New funding available for Broxtowe health projects

Racheal Millband, Communications & Engagement Manager, NHS Nottingham West CCG writes:

Community groups and organisations with great ideas to improve the health of people living in Broxtowe are invited to apply for funding to turn their ideas into reality.

The Lifestyle Fund is a pot of money from NHS Nottingham West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) which awards grants up to £2,500 through the Broxtowe Health Partnership.

Since its creation in 2013, around 90 local projects have benefitted from £150,000 in funding. This year, applications are being sought to tackle areas such as improving mental health, support for children and young people and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Dr Guy Mansford, Chief Clinical Officer for NHS Nottingham West CCG said: “Over the past few years we have been fortunate to see how a small amount of money has made a big difference to our local communities. Successful projects such as Beeston’s Memory Café and the Breathe Easy support group in Eastwood have benefitted greatly from our Lifestyle Fund.

“We’re interested in hearing about new health and wellbeing initiatives which will undoubtedly make a positive impact on our communities.”

Visit the CCG’s website – www.nottinghamwestccg.nhs.uk – to download an application form. You can also watch a YouTube film which tells you more about the funding and how it has benefitted the local community. The closing date for applications is Friday 27 January 2017.

For any queries, please contact the CCG team on Nottingham.west@nottinghamwestccg.nhs.uk or telephone 0115 883 5038.
