Beeston will come to light on Saturday 3rd December. This year’s event has been organised by Liberty Leisure Events on behalf of Broxtowe Borough Council. “Specsavers are delighted to be the main sponsor of the 2016 Christmas Light Switch on events in the Borough of Broxtowe,” said Krishna Parmar, Specsavers Director.
Come along and enjoy a Christmas Market in Beeston Square and a Traditional Fun Fair by Bert Holland and Son at the Old Bus Station plus children’s fair rides along Beeston High Road. From 10.30am they will create a festive atmosphere around the town with a bustling market boasting a wide variety of stalls selling Christmas gifts, cards, crafts, jewellery, food and drink and much more. There will be something for everyone so an ideal opportunity to make some Christmas purchases and enjoy some festive food.
From 4.30pm shoppers will be entertained by a festive street theatre act, a mix of seasonal songs and live music from a variety of local singers and choirs bringing more festive cheer to Beeston. The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Cllr Graham Harvey, will officially switch on the Christmas Lights at 5.00pm and there will be a spectacular finale Firework display that will light up the sky at 6.30pm.
Parking in the Town Centre is limited so please use public transport where possible. The Beeston Centre Tram stop brings you right into the heart of Beeston and is just a short walk to Beeston Square. Chilwell Road will be closed from the junction of Foster Avenue to Styring Street from 4.00pm – 7.30pm.
A Special 4 day Christmas Markets organised by the Arts & Crafts Fair Nottingham will be on every Thursday to Sunday from the 1st to the 24th December in Beeston Square and the Traditional Christmas Fun Fair by Bert Holland will be back in Town from the 19th – 24th December.
