FREE WIFI for Stapleford Town Centre

Thanks to the Stapleford Town Team FREE WIFI for Stapleford Town Centre is one step closer to becoming a reality.

Following a past meeting with retail expert Bill Grimsey in 2015 the Stapleford Town Team put together a wish list. One of the items on this list was to have Free Wifi available on the Stapleford High Street.

Since then lots of research and fact finding has taken place and last night at the Jobs and Economy Committee meeting at Broxtowe Borough Council it was agreed that Officers of the Council can now put out a tender for Free Wifi on the High Street in Stapleford.

A full report will then be taken back to the next Committee meeting in the new year and all being well it will be agreed and the Free WiFi will then be installed.

At the Committee meeting held last night both the Chairman Councillor Tony Harper and Vice Chair Councillor Mel Crow spoke very highly of the presentation they received from the Chair of the Stapleford Town Team and owner of Tailored To You Mrs Amy Davis who had put together a very informative presentation and explained the many benefits of having Free Wifi in Stapleford, not only for the businesses on the High Street but also for people visiting our great High Street.

Councillor Richard MacRae has said he is excited at the prospect of Stapleford being used to pilot this project and hopes it can then be rolled out across other areas of Broxtowe and looks forward to reading the report put together for the next meeting on 26th January 2017.
