Debate re NET Phase 2 Tram Extension

Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry  secured an Adjournment Debate in the House of Commons last night on the NET Phase 2 Tram Extension.
Anna Soubry said “I am pleased to have secured my first adjournment debate since returning to the backbenches and what better issue to raise in Parliament than one that has caused so much disruption for the residents and businesses in my constituency. It is critical we learn the lessons.”
The construction of the Phase 2 extension was months behind schedule, and caused chaos to the streets of Beeston, blighting the lives of residents and businesses.

Anna said “I am not anti-tram. But hugely expensive infrastructure projects must be built with the support of those people they are meant to benefit, be properly planned, constructed responsibly with the minimum of disruption and with proper compensation for affected residents and businesses. It is also important to deliver all that is promised on time and on budget.”
