A52 Grass Cutting, Sherwin Island Maintenance and Cleaning the Sherwin Island Bridge

Bridge 11.3.16 3Cllr Martin Plackett has just emailed to advise,

“Just received this e-mail from Steven Turvey Highways England Asset Manager for Nottinghamshire in response to my request for dates for the next grass cutting on the A 52, so allowing the Council access to the Island for maintenance.

This information along with a proposed ‘order’ to clean the Bridge are the most positive for some time.”

Highways England’s reply:

Dear Cllr Plackett,

Thank you for your enquiry.

I have raised this with our Assets team, who have advised that the grass will next be cut on this stretch of the A52 between the 17th and 20th August (exact date subject to weather conditions). Our contractor should have informed the BBC team of these dates already to enable litter picking to be coordinated along this stretch.

With regards to cleaning of the bridge, we are anticipating raising an order in the next week to get this work done. Exact timescales for this work will be dependent on what traffic management is required for this location, so I’m unable to give a date for this.

I hope this answers your questions.

Best regards,

Steven Turvey
Highways England
