Steve Carr writes: As you may be aware, the Conservative administration at Broxtowe have dithered about donating £2000 of the £4000 requested to Hope Nottingham. An organisation that does a huge amount of work for local people including a food bank, finding jobs for long-term unemployed people and rehabilitation for people who are alcohol dependent. This is a false economy.
Some Tories have even called for a Service Level Agreement. That would be fine if it were not for the fact that Hope and the Council are already in a Social Enterprise Agreement together! This displays an ignorance of the fantastic work this group do.
In order that this organisation can plan ahead, I have decided to donate the £2000 from my County Budget. This is on top of the £1200 I have pledged to the Broxtowe Women’s Project that have had a similar experience with the Conservatives in Broxtowe.
