Outstanding Result for the Year 9 Bramcote School Netball Team‏

Richard Bateman, Head of Schools Sport, The Bramcote School writes: Congratulations to The Bramcote school Year 9 Girls Netball Team who have capped an outstanding run of form in local competitions by becoming the Nottinghamshire County Champions. On a windswept evening, the girls were unbeaten in 7 games, culminating in a close fought match in the final Vs The Girls High School. Bramcote were victorious 4 -2. Each girl played their part, defensively Hollie R and Hollie W were fantastic and the goals kept coming from Caitlyn and Jodie. Centrally the team was guided by captain Chloe Peebles who coordinated superbly with her team mates Jenna, Hannah and Beth. The girls are an outstanding team, a real credit to their School and Club. They will now travel to Grantham in the New Year to compete in the regional finals.

This is the second competition the team have won this year and they have now played 14 games without loosing, playing such schools as West Bridgeford,Girls High School,George Spencer.

This is the first time in 15 years that the Bramcote school has been a county champion in any sport.

Netball is becoming a massive strength of the school, this year teams have played over 30 games and only lost 3! Much of this success is due to the local netball club Bramcote.
