2015 Christmas Card_001

The 2015 Christmas letter from the Vicar

I do hope that you will be able to find some time this Christmas to come and join us at one of the many events and services taking place at Saint Michael’s in order to thank God for his great gift to us, and to celebrate something which is far more enduring than our gifts and romantic thoughts.

May I wish you all a very peaceful and blessed Christmas.

Paul Reynolds

Saint Michael and All Angels

The parish church of St Michael and All Angels Bramcote is over 150 years old. It is the successor of the Saxon church whose tower still stands at the top of Town Street, and we are privileged to continue unbroken the Church of England’s responsibility to be a Christian presence in every community. The church recently completed a major refurbishment to make it fit for purpose for the next 150 years. Do come and see us – better still join us for one of our many Christmas services ABOVE.

Please contact us if you want to arrange a baptism or a thanksgiving for the birth of a child; if you’d like to get married in our church or have a wedding blessing; if you want to arrange a funeral or memorial service, or would appreciate a visit from one of our bereavement team; or if you just want to look round the building, see the new look and explore its history.

St Michael’s has launched two community based projects: weekly Silver Surfer sessions on Thursdays from 1.00pm to 3.00pm to help older people get to grips with using email and the Internet. In addition, on some Saturday mornings we run a Christians Against Poverty course (CAP). We also run occasional Christian Basics courses for those who want to learn about the Christian faith. For more details, please ring the church office.

St Michael’s is a Fairtrade church, and supports the Bramcote Care Group, which can offer practical help such as transport to doctors. Ring Elaine on 9392566.

The church office is open every weekday morning between 9.30 am and 12 noon. Do drop in, or give the office a call on 943 0137. You will be very welcome.
