Wonky Parsnips – Join The War On Waste

Textiles 3Did you join?

Did you see BBC1’s ‘Hugh’s War on Waste’ last week? It was alarming to see just how much food we waste because we want things like straight parsnips! Here at Broxtowe, we prefer ours wonky – they get chopped up in the end anyway!

Planning a weekly menu can help cut down on food waste. If you do have to throw away food make sure you compost! The Council offers home composters for as little as £20. Find out more at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/composting

Tonight, in the second instalment Hugh will be looking at textiles so don’t forget to tune in at 9.00pm on BBC 1 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06nzl5q

Broxtowe Borough Council can help you recycle your unwanted textiles with our free, kerbside textile collection service. Click here to find out more. www.broxtowe.gov.uk/textiles
