What is the point of discussing something when minds are already made up?
The UK is going through its biggest upheaval probably since the depression of the 1930’s and all Cameron wants to do is bring in legislation for something as trivial as gay marriage which was never in the tory manifesto or the Queens speech and it seems like the gay community are’nt much bothered about it.
I’ve spoken to a few gay friends who are quite happy with their civil partnership arrangements.
You’ll gather by this post that I’m against gay marriage..Yes I am.
Not for any religious or pro-creation reasons. I just think it’s a step too far, and of course it’s just another sop to the Lib Dems

Wow Barry, “it’s a step too far” has got to to be the silliest reason for opposing same-sex marriage and there have been a fair few flung about over the course of the protracted debate in the UK. A recent poll showed that a majority of Britons in all regions and all socioeconomic groups support the bill so the vocal minority shrieking about it are just that – a minority. Also, anyone who thinks the LGBT community isn’t interested in equal access to a state institution is seriously mistaken. No one is saying that all same-sex couples must get married if the bill passes, the same way that not all straight couples get married. It’s just about extending that choice to all UK citizens.

Whenever someone comments on any subject there’s always…”A recent poll” somewhere.
Nobody seems to know anyone who takes part in these polls but that I suppose is life.
And please don’t label me as shrieking as I’m just expressing an opinion.

The poll was done by YouGov, similar results have been shown in ICM and other respected pollsters. If you wish to look the evidence is out there. All include their samples, their weighting and their social makeup.
