Over the bank holiday weekend the castle will play host to a fine array of local handmade crafts and food producers from across Derbyshire and the East Midlands.
Set four miles southeast of the city of Derby is Elvaston Castle Country Park, a picturesque site featuring over 200 acres of woodlands, parkland and formal gardens.
The food and craft event will be held in the castle court yard where marquees and stands will be selling everything from meats, cheeses, pickles and confectionary through to fine arts, crafts, jewellery, and beauty products, all handmade locally. On both days there will be a range of hot and cold foods and snacks on sale, and on the Sunday there will be a Bar BQ where hot delicious food can be purchased.
The event organisers are All About Tourism, a local tourism marketing agency based in Nottingham. Marketing director Gary Allen expresses his enthusiasm for the event – This is our 2nd event at the castle, it’s a fabulous way to showcase some amazing local-made produce and regional foods, and increase visitors to these fabulous venues’.
The food and craft event will start at 10am until 6pm on Saturday, and 10am till 4pm on Sunday.
We are running this in conjunction with 2 caravanning events on the main county ground and also an art exhibition which is being held in the main Gothic House
The event is free to the public, although parking fees will still apply. (Unless you are a blue badge holder)
